million installs, a 2x year-over-year increase from May 2019. The countries
with the most installs of the app during this period were India at 20 percent

most installed non-game app worldwide last month with close to 94.6 million
installs, a 43x increase from May 2019. The countries with the largest number
of ZOOM installs were the U.S. at 17 percent, followed by India at 17
percent. WhatsApp, Facebook, and Messenger rounded out the
top five most installed non-gaming apps worldwide for the month.

growth from May 2019. Approximately 89 percent of TikTok’s revenue was from
China, followed by 6.2 percent from the United States and 1.2 percent from

earning non-game app worldwide for May 2020 with more than $78.4 million in
gross revenue, which represented 77.3 percent year-over-year growth from May

by Tencent Video and iQIYI.

2020 with more than 29.3 million installs, which represented a 28.3 percent
increase from May 2019. The countries with the most installs of the app during
this period were the United States at about 16 percent of its total downloads

Netflix was the
second most installed streaming app worldwide last month with more than 23.3
million installs, which represented a 52.1 percent increase from May 2019. The
countries with the largest number of Netflix installs were the U.S. at 17.2
percent, followed by Brazil at 10.4 percent. Amazon Prime
Video, YouTube Kids, and Twitch rounded out the top five most
installed streaming apps worldwide for the month.
Top Mobile Games by Worldwide Revenue for May 2020
The top grossing mobile
game by worldwide revenue for May 2020 was PUBG
Mobile from Tencent with more than $226 million in user
spending, which represented 41 percent growth from May 2019. Approximately 53
percent of PUBG Mobile’s revenue was from China, followed by 10.2 percent from
the United States and 5.5 percent from Saudi Arabia. The full ranking of the

Honor of Kings from
Tencent was the second highest earning mobile game worldwide for May 2020 with
an estimated $204.5 million in gross revenue, which represented 42 percent
year-over-year growth from May 2019. About 95 percent of Honor of Kings’
revenue was from China, followed by 2.2 percent from Thailand, where it’s
operated by Garena and known as Garena Realm of Valor. The next
top grossing game was Roblox from Roblox Corporation, followed
by Monster Strike from Mixi and Coin Master from Moon
Active.
As lockdown restrictions from the COVID-19 pandemic are
steadily lifted in many countries across the globe, Pokémon
GO from Niantic recorded its best month for revenue since
September 2019. In May, it generated $82.2 million, an increase of 45.5 percent
year-over-year from May 2019. Niantic also made changes to the title during the
pandemic in order to encourage playing at home, which has contributed to its
continued success during lockdowns.
Three Kingdoms
Strategic from Alibaba, meanwhile, had its best month ever. User
spending in the game, which is only available in China, has been on the rise
since January 2020, hitting $85.4 million last month. Released in September
2019, the title is already closing in on $500 million in lifetime revenue,
having accumulated $491.4 million to date.
